Mark Hickson - Director
Having worked in the construction industry since 18, he quickly progressed from being on the tools, to Project Managing developments for prominent and respected companies in the South West.

​Marks core values of pushing for high quality workmanship with a professional attitude has helped drive Charteroak (South West) Ltd on the road to being a great success since it started in 2016.

Had a varied sporting career in Football, Running, and Tennis competing at national levels

Currently a Level 3 FA Football Referee, with his Son and Daughter also now following him doing the same.

Loves spending time with his family and enjoys walks together in the great outdoors and enjoys relaxing in the evenings by gardening and DIY.
Mike Merrick - Director
His background as a Quantity Surveyor working with major housing construction companies across the South West, means his skill in understanding what is required on site at a premises is invaluable to pushing Charteroak (South West) Ltd forward since starting the business with Mark in 2016.

​Mike is instrumental in pinpointing the right contracts and work to be involved on, so the result is delivered beyond expectations.

Rod Mashford
Site Supervisor
Since joining in 2017, he has brought his vast knowledge and experience across all the necessary skills within the building trade from over 40 years in the industry.
​
His ability and confidence to site manage any project from inception to completion has led him to be not only successful in a short time at Charteroak (South West) Ltd, but a key team member.

Ben Mashford
Site Supervisor
Having graduated at a level 3 NVQ Diploma as a brick layer, Ben joined us in 2017. As a young man he has seen a quick rise in progression and is now a very competent Site supervisor.
​His attention to detail and skills to ensure every job meets the highest standards, along with his ability to liaise face to face with our clients, means he is invaluable to Charteroak (South West) Ltd.
Sandy Dorrell
Office Manager
Sandy joined us in August 2023 to work as our Office Manager. She has worked for many years in Finance and Business admin within the Education sector and brings a wealth of experience which will be a real asset to our business.
Sandy has tackled some large building projects of her own, re-developing her daughters' garden and refurbishing their current home. Understanding the work involved in large projects inspired her to apply for the position with Chateroak (South West) Ltd.
Sandy is looking forward to working with our clients and supporting the Charteroak (South West) Ltd Team on our many projects ahead.
Graeme Piet
Graeme first worked with Charteroak (South West) Limited in 2017 and he proved himself to be skilled in all areas becoming a customer favourite very quickly with his enthusiasm and general willing to get it done.

In 2020, we were delighted when he joined Charteroak (South West) Limited full time bringing a strong work ethic of getting things done professionally, quickly and able to adapt real time. His 29 years’ experience brings yet another valuable asset and we are looking for him to continue to progress within the company, whist engaging the people around him to follow and galvanise a team for the future
Lee Pickering
Lee joined Charteroak (South West) Ltd in November 2023 having previously worked alongside us through an agency. As a multi skilled and experienced labourer/Carpenters’ mate he has slotted in well with the team.
Lee in the past has worked on several local building projects building upon his experience across a number of disciplines. He continues to strive to add to his list of skills and is attending evening classes at a local college in order to achieve this.
Lee is hardworking and sets a high standard in his work, continuing the level of finish that Charteroak (South West) Ltd aspire to.
Melissa Gough
Melissa has recently joined the company. Qualified at Diploma level 1 & 2 Site Carpentry & Joinery which she gained at evening class. Melissa has a passion for renovation, actively working on her own project on an apartment whilst working full time.
Past work experience includes liaising and working with contractors, clients and professionals from all fields of the commercial and private industry. She has built upon relationships and promotes excellent customer service to all work that she is involved in.
Fraser Parkhill
Fraser is our newest and youngest team member! Coming direct from college where he is currently studying a one-year level 2 Multi trade course. He will join Charteroak (South West) Ltd as an apprentice working towards a Level 2 Carpentry qualification. He will have the chance to work alongside skilled professionals on a variety of jobs across the South West. Providing him with many opportunities to build upon his skill set and advance forward in his studies.
